Capstone projects supervised or evaluated include:

• External Demand Signals for Handheld Ultrasound, Clarius Mobile Health: country-by-state-by-channel panel (58 months), Negative Binomial GLM, Bayesian mixed GLM, Bayesian Structural Time Series. Role: presentation evaluation.
• CPOE Impact Evaluation on Pediatric Laboratory Services, BC Children’s Hospital, Dept. of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine (sponsor: Dr. Vilte Barakauskas): CPOE evaluation around the 2022 CST Cerner go-live, SQL linkage of Sunquest LIS and Cerner EHR extracts within the PHSA PANDA secure enclave. Role: supervision.
• Deep Learning for Soil Geochemistry Prediction, VRIFY Technology: ~130 GeoTIFF covariates, Recursive Feature Elimination, spatially blocked StratifiedGroupKFold, CNN/U-Net/DOFA foundation models, SHAP attribution, MLflow. Role: presentation evaluation.
• MedDRA Autocoder, Vaccine Evaluation Center, BCCHR: biomedical sentence embeddings (SapBERT, BioLORD, BiomedBERT) with lexical re-weighting; Streamlit reviewer-adjudication app; Top-3 retrieval accuracy 0.887. Role: supervision.
• CDL Venture Dashboard, Creative Destruction Lab: Cox PH survival analysis, XGBoost/HistGB graduation prediction, KNN similarity, GPT-4 feature extraction, dockerized Plotly Dash app. Role: supervision.
• Automated Phishing Detection, UBC Cybersecurity: containerized email-classification web service with monitoring dashboard. Role: supervision.
• Semi-Supervised Vessel Trajectories, Nautical Crime Investigation Services: AIS data (~20 GB), HMM segmentation, LSTM sequence labeling; led to a published journal article (EAAI 2026). Role: supervision.
